2008 Retrospective

Well that's 2008 wrapped up with the last wedding of the year photographed at Glenapp Castle in Ayrshire on 6th December.

This year I have provided wedding photography at 36 weddings including venues such as Aldwark Manor, Crewe Hall, Dunchurch Park, Gawsworth Hall, Goldsborough Hall, Hazlewood Castle, Headlam Hall, Oulton Hall, Swarcliffe Hall, The Morritt Arms, Wood Hall, plus 5 marquee weddings, 4 visits to Swinton Park, 5 times at Rudding Park and 7 weddings at Ripley Castle.

Next year (2009) is booking up faster than any previous year with, at the time of writing, just 12 dates remaining. It's looking to be a pretty exciting year for venues to with bookings for regular favourites such as Ripley Castle, Rudding Park and Swinton Park and many new venues throughout the UK plus overseas weddings in Ireland and Australia.

The diary for 2010 is now open with 5 of the 35 dates available already confirmed.

From the 35 albums designed this year, a total of 6764 finished images have been supplied to happy clients (that's an average of 193 images per couple!!) and a big thank you to them/you all for allowing me to be a part of your day.

The next post is to simply showcase some of my favourite images of the year.

I have selected 50 images (which from 6764 was more a case of what to leave out rather than what to include!!) which reflect my year in wedding pictures.

I hope you enjoy them and Seasons Greetings!!

Simon, I love the stuff you have done and the recent article in Pro Photographer.

A pro with a Wedding vision has my attention and my ear anytime. Keep sharing and I am sure your next couple of years will provide the true rewards our focus deserves.

I saw your article in Pro Photographer. Really inspiring and your portfolio is spectacular.

I'm in the early stages of my photography career so I really appreciated reading a first hand account of someone who has been there and done it.
